Ongoing developments

In order to meet the requirements of an increasing number of use-cases, and increase the alignment with F.A.I.R. principles, we are reviewing and implementing a number of updates to meet the following standards:

• MIAPPEMinimap Information About Plant Pheotyping Experiments
• MultiCrop Passport Descriptors
• Incorporation of DOI digital document identifiers associated with food crops
• Use of ORCID identifiers for people
• Use of GRID identifiers for organisations

Schema modifications

A series of updates are planned in order to ensure CropStoreDB achieves:

• Refine Geolocation capability
• Manage links to Trait Ontologies such as BRATO

Curation pipeline

Develop more sophisticated data loading capabilities, and in particular draw on the BIP submission interface to deploy this in more generic form.

User interface and search capabilities

The existing browser and BIP interfaces will be enhanced to provide much more flexible means of data navigation, particularly including:

• Flexible hierarchical tree navigation
• Interactive data plots for trait comparisons
• Pedigree displays
